Sooo, seeing as how me and time haven't exactly been seeing eye to eye lately, I'm guessing right now might thee perfect time to drop a summertime megamix...but ay, I guess that's kind of the point of summer, right?
Anyhey, about a month ago, I figured I'd make an attempt at scoring a ton of cool points by doing an Ibiza-style mix. You know, something invoking white sand, exotic lotions, oversized sunglasses, hours of casual fist-pumping, eternal bliss via self involvement and indifference, etc, etc. And I did actually intend to set about working on it that way, but as you might have guessed, the idea of doing an all day eurotanning sesh mix just for the ""context of it all"" wore thin pretty quickly (like after two or three songs really).
So instead I tried to cobble together an island beach party vibe using stuff I genuinely like from a couple different genres, doing my best to bridge the whole chill out beach thing with stuff that actually sounds good when it enters your ears. In the end, I opted for some classier jams, but there is still a decent amount of guilty pleasure kitsch in there. Oh, and we're rolling with the original title, Endless Baleria, as well because hey...I've got the re-emergence and subsequent co-opting of said pan-atlantic buzzword ALL figured out.
You know how it is, when you are real busy being too cool for words and all the sudden the blog house and electro ease up a bit and those previously abrasive textures take a sudden turn for the smooth. It's like you have no choice but to turn to the asshole next to you and go, "woOOOow, it's getting like, massively Balearic in here...u wanna go do another bumpy, ba-bro brah?"
I mean, that's just how it works in the 07, right? Right?!? Of course it does. But yeah, to all my twenty-something yacht rockers the world over, just know that the title was kept for your enjoyment. Here's to the cycle coiling in on itself once more!
But serious, curiously misdirected ranting aside, if you do find yourself beach or poolside on Labor Day, then try bumping this as the sun is starting to set...

I'm glad I've done things that appeal to both sides of the spectrum. :)
